Events for May - National Bike Month

Greetings Friends of Cycling,

If you did not know, May is national bike month. To celebrate CAB has scheduled several events. We also have some great news from the effort to make Conway an official Bicycle Friendly Community.

City of Conway Enacts More Bike-Friendly Initiatives

The Conway city council last night approved three landmark initiatives that will further our efforts to make Conway a friendly place to ride. The first two initiatives established the Conway Bicycle Advisory Board and adopted the Conway Bicycle Master Plan that was created with input from several CAB members. The council then approved a "complete streets" ordinance very similar to the one passed recently in North Little Rock.

These initiatives are very good things for the cycling community in Conway. We look forward to seeing the implementation of these plans.

Ride to Work With the Mayor

National Bike to Work Day is May 15, 2009. Conway Advocates for Bicycling is hosting a group ride to work with Mayor Tab Townsell. This 4-mile ride will feature a very easy commute along the Tucker Creek Trail, through the UCA Campus, and historic Old Conway.

The ride is broken up into three sections. Riders can join us for the whole ride or pick up at one of the section stops. The sections are described below.
