The Little Rock Metroplan Board has created a map to show current bicycling routes and trails for the entire metro area -- including Conway. They are seeking opinions from people like us that travel around the cities on bikes. The map is attached below for everybody's review.
Bryan Patrick, director of Conway city planning, has requested that we contact him directly as to whether or not these routes are really heavily used. He has also asked that we provide information on other heavily used routes that are not on the map. He can be contacted by email at bryan.patrick@cityofconway.org
The Conway information on the map is rather sparse. I for one know there are several of us that travel up and down Salem, Country Club, Farris, Donaghey, and Prince on a regular basis. Some of the streets that are mentioned -- Old Military, Stanley Russ, and Sturgis -- do not get that much bicycle traffic that I know of. These roads are also terrible for cyclists. Most of Old Military is way to rough to ride, Stan Russ and Sturgis are both very narrow and dangerous. My guess is most of the bicycle traffic on these streets is also for recreational cycling (which is completely fine); but, it looks like Metroplan is trying to establish transportation routes.
Thoughts? Comments? Please leave them here and we can email Mr. Patrick and the good folks at Metroplan a link to this page.

I wont count my recreational
I wont count my recreational ridding roads since I consider anything fair game for that (short of I-40). For commuting I use;
Prince - between Farris and College
Farris - between Prince and UCA
College - between Harkrider and Prince
Donaghey - between Dave Ward and Meadowlake
Robbins
South German
Country Club
Irby
Hogan
Tyler
Siebenmorgan - between Hendrix and Collier
Museum
Ingram
Salem - between College and Irby
All of downtown
I think I put more miles on my bikes than both of my cars.
My List
In order, here are the roads I travel by bike. I travel 1-5 almost daily. The rest I travel at least twice a week. I also make good use of the Tucker Creek Trail on a daily basis; I use it to connect the main streets.
1) Salem - From South Salem to Prince
2) Country Club - From College (really the bike trail) to Dave Ward
3) Reedy Road - From the Bike Trail to Prince
4) Prince Street - Donaghey to Reedy Road
5) Mattison/Nutter's Chapel
6) Donaghey Ave - South Donaghey to 64
7) Nutter's Chapel/Farris
For recreational riding I travel Donnell Ridge, Old Military, 286 (past Hogan). Hwy 60, Hwy 64, and Hwy 25. These are typically once a week or so.

My List
Just realized I posted this comment to the wrong article the other day. Sorry...
----
Here's the list I sent him earlier today:
1) Old Morrilton Hwy. (Hwy. 64 W) west out of Conway
2) Hwy. 25 north out of Conway.
3) Padgett Road
4) Tyler Street
5) Hogan (esp. north of Tyler and south of Dave Ward)
6) Prince Steet (esp. west of Donaghey and extending west on Hwy. 60)
7) Dave Ward Drive west of Hogan
8) Salem/Nutters Chapel
9) Meadowlake
10) Country Club/Mattison Rd.
11) College Ave. (esp. western half)
12) Round Mt. Road
I think some of the roads listed on the map do get some bike traffic, but they don't represent the most used routes. I've ridden some of the rougher roads, but my ride is an MTB :-)
